Parking

The driveway accommodates approximately four small economy cars or two large vehicles, depending on their size and positioning.

During non-winter months, two additional dirt parking spaces may be available across the street. These spaces are not guaranteed and may be unavailable, especially during winter.

Please keep access clear and respect neighboring properties.

Wi-Fi

The Wi-Fi network name and password are located on top of the corner cabinet in the kitchen.

If you have trouble connecting, please message us before unplugging or resetting any equipment.

Bedrooms & Linens

The house has four bedrooms:

Main floor

Two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed.
Second floor

One bedroom with a king-size bed.
One bedroom with two twin beds.
Fresh bed linens are provided, and all beds are made before your arrival. Bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths are also provided.

The staircase has a handrail. Please use it and take care when carrying luggage upstairs.

Heating: Nest Thermostat

The Nest thermostat is adjusted using its outer silver ring.

Gently turn the ring to wake the screen.
Turn clockwise/right to raise the temperature.
Turn counterclockwise/left to lower the temperature.
Stop at your preferred temperature; the setting saves automatically.
Understanding the display

The large center number is your selected temperature.
The smaller number near the outer edge is the current room temperature.
A green leaf indicates an energy-saving temperature setting.
For heating to start, the selected temperature must be above the current room temperature. Allow time for the house to warm up.

Pressing the thermostat opens its menu, but you only need to turn the ring to adjust the temperature. Please leave schedules, Wi-Fi, and equipment settings unchanged.

Keep windows and exterior doors closed while heating is running. If the thermostat is locked or the house isn’t warming up, message us.

Upstairs Bedroom Electric Wall Heaters

Each upstairs bedroom’s Envi wall heater has controls beside its screen. Refer to the illustrated guide in this section to identify the buttons.

Turn on
Briefly press the middle button on the LEFT of the screen—the Power/Menu button. Do not hold it down, as holding it opens the settings menu.

Adjust the temperature

Top RIGHT button: Raises the temperature.
Bottom RIGHT button: Lowers the temperature.
Select a temperature above the current room temperature for heat to start.

Turn off
Briefly press the middle LEFT button again.

Good to know
These heaters provide gentle, silent warmth without a fan. You won’t hear a fan or feel a strong blast of hot air. Allow time for the room to warm up.

The screen may go dark automatically while the heater remains on.

Keep bedding, curtains, clothing, furniture, and luggage clear of the heater. Never cover it, hang anything over it, or block its vents. Leave timer, schedule, and Wi-Fi settings unchanged.

If the buttons are locked or the heater isn’t warming the room, please message us.

Upstairs Electric Fireplace

The upstairs electric fireplace uses controls on the unit; there is no remote.

Locate the metal flip cover on the right side.
Open the cover to access the controls.
Use the orange switch to turn the fireplace on. The switch lights when activated.
Switch it off when finished and before checkout.
Keep blankets, clothing, and other items away from the heater outlet. If you need help with the controls, please message us.

First-Floor Bedroom Ceiling Fan & Light

The fan and light use the wall touch control beside the bedroom door. Refer to the visual guide in this section.

Touch the bottom On/Off icon first to activate the control.
Touch the lightbulb icon to turn on the light and adjust brightness.
Use the fan icon to turn on the fan and change its speed.
Touch On/Off again to turn everything off.

These TVs use Roku, with remotes located beside the TVs.

When prompted by Roku Guest Mode, enter your checkout date and follow the onscreen instructions. Guest Mode is designed to sign you out automatically at the end of your visit. Please still check that your accounts are signed out before departure.

Turn the coffee maker off when finished.

Electric Stovetop & Oven

Before cooking
Remove decorative items and anything else from the stovetop. Use flat-bottom cookware suitable for an electric glass cooktop.

Stovetop

Check the small burner diagram beside each knob to select the correct cooking zone.
Turn the corresponding knob to the desired heat setting.
Adjust the heat as needed while cooking.
Return the knob fully to OFF when finished.
The glass remains hot after a burner is switched off. Keep children and heat-sensitive items away until it has cooled.

Oven
Use the labeled bake and temperature controls to select your cooking temperature. Allow the oven to preheat, use oven mitts, and switch the oven off when finished.

Please wipe spills once surfaces are cool and avoid abrasive cleaning tools on the glass cooktop.

Microwave

Place food in a microwave-safe container.
Cover loosely to reduce splatters.
Select your cooking time and press Start.
Remove food carefully; dishes and steam may be hot.
Do not put metal, foil, or dishes with metallic trim inside. Wipe up spills after the microwave cools.

PowerXL Air Fryer

Place the air fryer on a dry, heat-resistant counter with space around its vents.
Pull out the basket using the handle, add food, and slide the basket fully back into place.
Use the center power button.
The left + and − controls adjust temperature; the right + and − controls adjust cooking time.
Follow the food package or recipe’s cooking guidance.
Do not fill the basket with cooking oil. Use oven mitts when handling the hot basket. Turn off, unplug, and let the appliance cool before cleaning.

Slow Cooker

Place the slow cooker on a dry, heat-resistant counter.
Add ingredients to the removable crock and place the lid on top.
Turn the dial to LOW or HIGH, following your recipe.
Keep the lid in place while cooking.
WARM is only for keeping already-cooked food warm, not cooking raw ingredients.

When finished, turn the dial to OFF, unplug, and allow it to cool before washing. Do not immerse the electrical base in water.

Dishwasher

Scrape food scraps into the trash.
Load dishwasher-safe dishes without blocking the spray arms.
Add automatic dishwasher detergent to the dispenser and close its lid.
Close the door securely.
Use Cycles to choose Normal for everyday dishes or Heavy for a heavily soiled load.
Select Heat Dry if desired, then press START/Cancel.
Never use liquid hand dish soap in the dishwasher. Allow the cycle to finish, and open carefully because steam and dishes may be hot.

Bathrooms, Showers & Water Care

The home uses a private well and septic system. Thank you for treating them with care.

Flush only toilet paper and human waste.
Put wipes—even “flushable” wipes—feminine products, cotton pads, paper towels, and other items in the trash.
Do not pour grease or oils down any drain.
Please avoid leaving water running unnecessarily.
Plungers are located under the sinks.
Toilet paper, bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths are provided.

Upstairs shower
The shower uses a single handle. A comfortable temperature is generally slightly left of center, but adjust gradually and test the water before stepping in.

Water pressure and temperature can change when both showers are used at the same time. Please avoid flushing toilets while someone is showering.

Tub and handheld shower
Keep the shower curtain inside the tub. Adjust water gradually, return the handheld shower securely to its holder, and avoid pulling on its hose. Turn the water fully off after use.

If you need help switching between the tub and shower, please message us rather than forcing a control.

If the device does not appear or pairing fails, please message us rather than resetting the unit.

Private well and septic reminder: Flush only toilet paper and human waste. Keep wipes, grease, and oils out of the drains.

Trash & Household Supplies

Trash barrels are located behind the house, off the deck.

Please use the provided white or green trash bags, tie bags securely, and place them inside the barrels. Close the lids securely.

Paper towels and toilet paper are supplied. Please message us if you cannot find an essential item.

Enjoying Shellcamp Lake

Shellcamp has two designated swimming beaches with safety buoys. The designated swimming areas are a good starting point for families with children.

Please message us for directions and current access information before heading out. Follow posted signs and respect neighboring property boundaries.

Seasonal porta-potties may be available at the beaches; availability varies.

Children need close adult supervision around the water. Water near docks can be deeper, and conditions can change. Never assume the depth is safe for jumping or diving.

Winter lake visits
Ice conditions vary across the lake and can change quickly. Do not assume the ice is safe because it looks frozen or because other people are on it.
